Cell Division:
This is the lab on Cell division. We learned that cells divide by binary fission.

Reproductive Systems

Reproductive System Lab:
This lab we studied the reproductive system of male and females.

This is the picture of the stages of a fertilized female egg and embryo.

GAS EXCHANGE and RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:

In this lab we did a Gas Exchange in which we tested our lung capacity and lung volumes.
I don't have the picture of the spirometer but have the picture from the book.

The Second part of the lab was the Respiratory System in which we had to draw and label the system.

 We also had a pigs lung that we got to inflate with a pump.

DNA experiment

We made DNA necklaces from our DNA tubes we had.

DNA LAB:

In this lab we extracted DNA epithelial cells from the inside of cheek.

This was after the lysis we added which breaks open the cells nuclear membrane so it can release the nuclear contents.

We sat the tubes in warm water baths for a couple of minutes.

After  the protease change had occured the solution cleared up and thickend just a little bit, from this we took some of our DNA from the tube and made necklaces.

Liver Catalase and Temperature

This was the assignment we did on the liver catalase and temperature. We had several test tubes tested in different temp environments. We had a ice-bath, water-bath, and had a boiling-water tube.

Anaerobic Respiration: Alcoholic Fermentation in Yeast

In this experiment we investigated the ability of yeast to ferment carbohydrates.
